Just How Many Hairdos Can My Hair do?

Here's a good depiction of the endless possibilities with curly hairstyles.  Some of them I have tried.  For example, I am a huge fan of the messy bun.  As a busy mom, it's extremely convenient to be able to tie it all up and go.  For my daughters, I often do two-strand twists and box braids.  It keeps their hair neat and has the added advantage of being "protective" styling...

Who knew the secret to beauty was right in our kitchen?...

It seems the world is going through an organic craze.  We have heard about it with the food we consume and now the same is true for hair care products.  Have any of you given thought or even tried using things you most likely have at home in your kitchen?  For example, honey is said to prevent hair loss, can be used as an effective moisturizer, and can even be used as a skin conditioner.  Other examples include eggs, mayonnaise, olive oil, and coconut oil.

Taming Your Mane

Hey there furry friends.  I know some of us can be serious product junkies.  We look under our bathroom sink and see that we have become our own CVS hair care aisle.  So my question is, what makes you try a product?  Is it word of mouth, cost, ingredients, or the name or brand?  I recently tried Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream.  My reasons: word of mouth- I've heard good things about this brand; and cost- it's a little pricier than I'd like it to be but it came in a decent size.  So far, I am very pleased with it.  It helps with detangling, smells really nice, and leaves my hair silky without feeling heavy or greasy.  It does however have a residue.  What do you guys think?
